Gaara

Looooool Lepus. Gaara is glad to be back, although he still feels a little unwanted and will probably avoid major team stuff for a while until he feels more confident in himself and his place there. He realizes he was trolled by Mirror, and yet he's still kind of upset that none of the rest of his team tried to stand up for him at the time.

Spending the night outside was not all that great for him, and not just physically. His memories of fighting so far prove to him that he's the biggest badass of anyone around him, except maybe Sasuke, but that's a little lost in the Crazy. So being in a situation where he truly was not able to defend himself the way he wanted was far more terrifying than anything that was actually happening to him. Buuuuuuut... he was nowhere near ready to go back after that.

Which is what brought him to Cygnus and kind of the root of the whole problem. Basically everywhere he went people were getting upset with him for leaving, which he thought was the most logical choice for him at the time, and he ended up annoyed with everything and everyone and limping (literally) back to Mono where he thought he would be left alone.

And that leads right into Mirror's penalty.

Gaara is now a narcoleptic, meaning that he will fall asleep under certain conditions without much warning. Alcohol is a big trigger, but not one that will come up often. Being stressed will trigger it as well, although how that goes in games, I'm not sure yet. But he knows it's a penalty, he willingly took it for the team and that makes him feel more useful and more like he belongs there.

That and the fact that Lily is insanely adorable, has no clue that anything was wrong with him and just wants to go pick flowers with him. It helps tons to have a completely non-judgemental teammate that he very much wants to keep safe to keep him from wanting to leave again.



Doumeki

Abides.

No, but seriously, it's been a weird time for Doumeki so far. Especially with the complications around Watanuki and his team.

Doumeki loves his team and will defend and care for them as best he can, it's just that other than in his actions, which have been kind of all over recently, he isn't really going to show it. He's just not that kind of person. But he will sacrifice himself for Ursa without a second thought and he only wants what's best for them.

That said, the fact that various people have questioned his loyalty to Ursa really got to him and he will be trying very hard from now on to show them how much they mean to him. Even if that means he has to get naked to earn some special treats for them.

The thing with Jake recently was upsetting mostly because there was nothing he could do about it. He was more willing to give Jake space and let it take it's course than the rest of Ursa was, but he was also totally behind their plan to get him. And now that everything is okay again, Doumeki is happy to just go on about his business as if nothing is wrong.

Stuff with Watanuki is more complicated and I will come in later and ramble more about that.

ETA: I said I would and now I am!

Doumeki had NO idea what to do with Watanuki when he first met him. He was lying and acting weird and yelling a lot and generally being spazzy and Doumeki wasn't sure he really wanted to know this person. But he was a good cook, and willing to make food for Doumeki without really questioning it, and that's very seriously the quickest way into Doumeki's heart. Well, that and booze.

But after being in Watanuki's heart and getting his own memory back that was pretty much nothing but him watching out for and teasing Watanuki he got the distinct feeling that there was more going on than he had guessed. That and the fact that he remembered hearing that Watanuki was important, he decided he needed to keep an eye on the Noodle. He also took it upon himself to try and fix Watanuki's heart since he felt partially responsible for breaking it. Not that he was, he just blamed himself for it because he was there when things went wrong.

Fixing the noodleheart made him feel much better, but it also got him yelled at a lot, which sucked. He ended up giving Watanuki a week of labor in exchange for everything he'd been eating and doing to take advantage of him while his heart was wrecked.

More memories, more CLAMP trauma, more looking out for Watanuki and feeling like he's an idiot who needs to be monitored. Now with extra team guilt because while he's trying to pay back his debt and not get them in trouble, they're feeling abandoned by him and he's working hard to split his time between them. But there's so little he can really DO for Ursa that he just ends up feeling worse about it and avoiding them.

And then he saw Watanuki kissing Aeon and things got weird, because doumeki does NOT like Aeon at all. Add nudity and a little badly timed temptation apple eating and now he's feeling pretty bad about everything that happened and everyone involved.

He's definitely going to be spending as much time with his team as possible. He really likes them, and wants to keep them safe, but he doesn't know how to show them besides physically being there. How do I feelings?



Roy

Roy is doing pretty well, considering! He's still kind of wondering about Uroboros and what he's gotten into being with them, but he's kind of getting used to it, and at least he's not part of Uraeus, who he's not all that fond of. But he hasn't really made any enemies yet, just met some people he doesn't like a whole lot but is still willing to try and get along with.

As far as Uroboros goes, he likes them well enough. Nishi is still something of a mystery and he will continue to poke at him from time to time. He doesn't exactly feel the "team spirit" beyond wanting to stay on top because he likes being able to say he's on top.

The Mirror game kind of tested his ability to stand up to this environment and he made it through surprisingly well. He hates himself some, but he was also doing his duty as an Ophiuchus and he can't feel THAT bad about it. He's definitely looking at the big picture, and the big picture for him is having a wish granted at the end that's worth everything he's gone through. Or at least that's what he's going to keep telling himself.

Having another Ophi he can talk with (mainly Kazuha) makes it easier to stay there and he's enjoying his position more and more. He hasn't made any real enemies of the Blanks yet, or at least, he doesn't think he has, so he doesn't feel bad at all wandering wherever he wants. He definitely likes the fact that he can order them around, that's a big plus. And he'll try to bargain more when he gets a better handle on how it works.

Roy on Masamune?

Masamune is such an interesting case. He's cute, which helps keep Roy interested, but mostly he's having fun just poking to see what Masamune will do. He's a fun side project, and if Roy can get anything more out of it, that's just a bonus. He really was being both drunk and nice, trying to take Masamune home. But when Jace started giving him crap he started thinking maybe there was more to him that was worth protecting.

He really started messing with Masamune on a whim, and a drunken one at that. But he turned out to be a lot more fun than Roy expected, and he's not about to stop now.

Roy doesn't really know what he wants out of Masamune exactly, like he doesn't have a goal in mind. But it's a hell of a ride.

Reverse?

Masamune basically IS NOT CERTAIN what to think about Roy. On the one hand, Roy's an Ophi and kind of obnoxious and that's annoying and occasionally pisses Masamune off! Which is fine, that's pretty normal and he's used to that. Like I commented in IRC, it kind of reminds him of Keiji a little in that way.

But then on the other hand, Roy keeps trying to be genuinely NICE to him and saying NICE THINGS and so on and Masamune... really doesn't know what to make of that! The thing is, Masamune just does not generally get along with people well. And thus people generally don't like him very much. He's arrogant, he's temperamental, and he generally has an attitude. In canon, basically the only person to care about him in a PERSONAL way is Kojuurou, and in Sabra, the only person he was remotely emotionally close to was Yukimura. So both his memories AND his Sabra experiences just reinforce his internal attitude that yeah, he's just an unlikable kind of guy that pretty much no one really likes all that much. Which he's... more or less okay with, because that's just how things are and he's never really known any differently. And that's exactly why Roy's attitude throws him for such a loop, because he really DOES NOT KNOW how to respond to this! It's just that when in doubt, he tends to default/revert to irritable/violent reactions, because he honestly doesn't know how to deal with it otherwise.

So basically it's kind of like DO NOT KNOW IF WANT -> THIS IS CONFUSING AND THEREFORE ANNOYING -> LET'S JUST BE PISSED OFF AND MAKE IT GO AWAY

...on the other hand, though, a certain small part of him DOES kinda like the flattery and so on, though he'd never, EVER admit it. Because oh does he CRAVE recognition and attention and appreciation. So the result is this nice mix of confused and uncertain reactions that largely end up manifesting as annoyance/irritability because that's just how Masamune copes with these things. |Db

....he is, however, interested in the idea of sparring Roy, if only because it's basically giving him an invitation to try to beat the crap out of an Ophi. Which is ALWAYS a welcome idea. >D

Any thoughts from Doumeki on Masamune?

I don't know if Gaara has any new impressions of Ed. He thinks Ed is kind and reliable, and if he had to, he'd try to find him if he needed Del for something.

Roy is slightly dubious of Ed, since he obviously remembers more about their world than Roy does. Not that he thinks Ed is hiding things per se, but he's pretty sure that Ed isn't telling him everything he knows.

But then, Roy kind of assumes that the two don't really know each other all that well back home. Ed might be his subordinate, but he doesn't think Ed would be around a lot, or that he'd care deeply about all of his underlings. So this is kind of a nice way to get to know Ed better, and hopefully help him, because DAMN kid, missing an arm? Your life is rough and he barely knows you.

Ed is probably one of the few people that Roy would do anything to not have to punish... at least seriously. If it was like an uneven trade thing he might tase Ed, but only so he could be there for him after.

I can't wait until he learns the joy of yelling at Ed. ♥

Reverse?

Oddly Ed probably would go to Roy now to fess up on minor infractions to be tazed. XD (Previously he went to Geddoe after an accidental sleepover.)

ANYWAY. Gaara. Ed likes him, and would like to pursue the acquaintanceship toward an actual friendship with him. He knows Lepus doesn't have the best reputation, but... he's never actually seen any problem with any of the ones he's met, so it's not a deterrent to him. Nothing complex there yet, mostly just that he thinks Gaara's a good guy and wouldn't mind getting to know him better.

AS FOR ROY. He really doesn't know WHAT to think yet. He has one short memory with him so far so he just doesn't know much about him yet, and he's still figuring out what's going on with their world... but if Roy asked, he'd be willing to tell him what he DOES know. He's just not sure how much Roy wants to know now, and how much he'd rather find out on his own. He's also somewhat wary about giving him TOO much information, since he knows enough to know that human transmutation is a serious crime, so... lolo. In spite of that, though, and in spite of the Ophi thing, Roy's someone he remembers from before Sabra, so he's interested in talking to him and getting to know him here as he waits for more memories to tell him more.

He feels TERRIBLE for having to hurt her, and even worse that she was mostly okay with it. He doesn't regret it, because he knows he has to do his duty, but he still feels awful that it had to be like that. Eventually he might even get over it enough to talk to her. But he's so much less okay with hurting women than he is with hurting men. Especially when they don't deserve it.

Basically, hurting Blood was the worst part of that game for him by far and he hasn't really gotten over it yet.

Her feelings on Roy?

She really doesn't give even half a shit about him, and will continue to call him "Ophiuchus" until he REALLY gives her a good reason to do otherwise. (Either does something really, really impressive to gain her respect/get under her skin, or he basically threatens her team mates with harm unless she does otherwise.) Being an adult man off Pygnus stacks the cards pretty seriously against her ever really seeing him as a human being.


In that game, by that point, she was pretty solidly unhinged. There's nothing about being harmed physically that particularly bothers her; Roy hit it on the head that she has a martyr complex, and beyond that she is- at this point- something of a masochist. (Nnnnnot sexually, it's not that she GETS OFF ON IT, it's just that physical pain is something that makes a lot of sense to her and she can deal with far more easily than emotions. So she generally prefers it!) ANYWAY! The point of all that being that there was nothing about Roy dislocating her shoulder that caused her any sort of hard feelings at all. The reason she flirted with him and laughed and was basically a crazy bitch was just that: she was being a crazy bitch. She did that to hurt him as an expression of petty cruelty from someone who just doesn't know how to deal with this place anymore.

Doumeki on Aura?

Aura is his favorite. She's small, she's nice and she cooks for him. Awkward hugs aside, she's the one who respects his space and boundaries and general way of life the most. Or at least when she's unhappy with him she's very nice about it. Plus she's quiet, and he likes that a whole lot.

Her being disappointed in him hits so much harder than anyone else on the team because he really wants to keep her happy. She's also the one he's most likely to follow around protectively. ... Mamabear style.

If Ursa does an Ophi mission, what would Aura want out of it?

Doumeki on Ice?

Ice is easy for Doumeki to identify with, except that he's much stronger. But Doumeki has already told Ice much more than any other Ursa about himself and his motivations, so there's a lot of trust there. He really does trust Ice to be looking out for the team where and how he can't.

Oh, and if Doumeki ever got a really awful memory that he didn't know how to deal with, he would probably tell Ice about it first. And possibly ONLY tell Ice.

Man, it's hard to come up with much to say for Doumeki because his motivations are so simple and straightforward.
